- Yesterday was the anniversary of her daughter's abduction.

- on the anniversary of his wife's death

What's the rush? Do you wanna talk?”

C: And it's becoming more common for people like that to come back to their former place of employment at a higher level and with a better compensasion package.

U: I can understand that. But I think  a good manager should try to keep valued employees by offering them a better deal if they start to get itchy feet. Good people are hard to find these days.

G: Yes, and that explains why more employers are willing to take back former employees who've left the company amicably. Smart managers realize that sometimes things don't work out well for them at their new jobs. They're willing to give people a second chance and welcome them back to the fold - especially if the former employees shows a little humility.

C: Employers need to realize that today's young people simply don't put as much of a premium on loyalty as previous generations. That doesn't mean they're less dedicated as workers. It's just that millennials see the world and their place in it a bit differently.

M: Yes. Companies need to look at the relationship with an employee as something ongoing. Both sides need to nurture goodwill to keep that relationship healthy and productive.

U: That's very important when an employee feels it's time to leave the company. People are especially sensitive about how they're treated when they make their decision known.
